New classes at Body & Soul!

My lovely yogis! Finally the time has come to announce two new additions to my regular classes that I have been longing to teach and you have continued to ask for since I am back in Munich: yoga classes at Body & Soul. The first one is a bi-weekly Yoga Basic class on Saturdays, from 9:30 – 10:45 am at Body & Soul Nord. We are already starting on February 3 and will go from there every other Saturday. The class is ideal for new yogis who want to establish the foundations of a thorough and sustainable practice as well as for experienced practitioners who would like to refine their alignment, movement patterns and overall approach. The second one is a weekly Power Yoga class on Thursdays, from 7:00 – 8:00 am at Body & Soul Nord. This early morning flow will help you to find balance between strength and ease, leaving you energized and ready for the day ahead. I am so looking forward to seeing you there! Much love ♡ Advertisements

A dream come true!

I have aways wanted to grow my practice and teaching so that one day I would change perspective from being a student in a Yoga Teacher Training to being a mentor. I had no structured plan for this to happen, just a vision but as always when we set our mind and intentions onto something, it sooner or later materializes. I did not expect for my dream to come true this fast though so naturally I was over the roof when Patrick invited me to join his team of mentors in his latest 200 hour Teacher Training. Patrick Broome Yoga became my yoga home in Munich over the years and I am honored and grateful for the opportunities given. We started in November 2017 and will continue until May this year, with monthly weekend intensives. I am mentoring an adorable group of 10 yogis and together we learn and grow and allow for our hearts to open and surrender and trust, brightly shining the light that resides within us. Teaching yoga is my calling and …

Playlist Yin Yoga

With winter approaching, we are entering a time of stillness and reflection. As the temperatures get colder, our bio-rhythm is slowing down. It’s a time for less activities, for staying in, for getting cozy with ourselves and our loved ones. It is also a time for turning inwards. As the year is coming to end an, we reflect on what touched our life in one way or another, seeking closures and new beginnings. This is a beautiful opportunity to slow down the pace and stay with what is in the spirit of openness and reliance. Yin Yoga can be a very sweet practice to support you on that path. Here’s my Yin Yoga Playlist for this season ♡

Orange Vanilla Chia Pudding

When living in LA you can’t get around Chia Seeds. They are virtually everywhere. I remember when a few years back my husband and I would not buy them when in Munich, because they were too expensive and hard to get by. A lot has changed since then and Chia Seeds are not only to be found in most stores, they also became affordable. However, it has taken me a very long time to prepare my first Chia Seed pudding at home. I’m usually feeling hesitant towards trends and prefer for the hype to slow down before I join the party. Chia Seeds are high in vitamins, protein, fiber, antioxidants and omega-3’s. Hence they make for a deliciously healthy breakfast that will provide you with a lot of energy to start the day. Plus, this will be most likely be the richest, creamiest, orangiest pudding you’ve ever had.   Orange Vanilla Chia Pudding ∼ Serves 2 ∼ 1 Cup of milk of choice 1/2 Cup freshly squeezed orange juice Zest of 1 orange 2 Tablespoons maple …

Rooftop Yoga

I`ve got news for you! Rooftop Yoga is coming to Munich!!! Living in Los Angeles, I fell deeply in love with rooftops and their vibes. The sensation of being right in the heart of the city, yet feeling closer to the sky than the busy life below is enchanting to me. Due to my love for rooftops and the fact that Munich is a little sleepy when it comes to yoga events and creative places to practice, already when I was still in Los Angeles I began to envision to offer something like rooftop yoga once back in Munich. Munich is buzzing with joy of life in the summertime and everyone and everything is happening outside on any given day that is blessed with sunshine and warm temperatures, so rooftop yoga was only the next logical thing to happen. As always, when you embark on the right path, the universe provides and soon after arriving in Munich the possibility arose to make my vision come true. Starting July 20 there`ll be open yoga classes on …

Red Beet Soup

After teaching evening classes I often come home late. Since eating a big meal before class isn`t an option I usually end up being pretty hungry by the time I make it back home. Since you don`t want to eat a big meal before going to bed neither, soups are a great way to nourish yourself without feeling stuffed or heavy. This red beet soup tastes great and its color brings pure joy ♡ Red Beet Soup ∼ Serves 4 ∼ 2 Onions 3 Medium sized red beet 2 Medium sized potatoes 2 Tablespoons butter 2 Lb vegetable broth 0,25 Lb cream 4 Teaspoons creamed horse raddish Salt Pepper Finely chopped chive Finely chop the onions. Peel the potatoes and red beet and cut into medium sized cubes. Sauté the onions, potatoes and red beet in butter on medium heat. Add the vegetable broth and bring to boil. Let it simmer on medium heat for 40 minutes. Purée the soup and bring to boil once more. Season with salt and pepper to liking. Sieve the soup, …

Argan Oil

Since a few years argan oil is really up and coming as one of the major natural beauty care products. In every drugstore and supermarket you`ll find products these days that claim to contain the precious liquid. While most of us relate argan oil to Morocco, few know about the process of extraction and why the oil is costly compared to other natural oils. On our way to Paradise Valley nestled in the Atlas mountains of Morocco, we stopped at botanic gardens that hold an argan oil co-operative. The lush and beautiful small garden holds all sorts of plants and herbs that serve as natural remedies, beauty products or spices and the little tour explains how they are traditionally used in Morocco. Of course, there`s also an old argan tree in the center of the little compound. A few women are working on argan nuts and the process is explained to us here: first the fresh yellowish nuts are dried until they shrivel into small, dark brown kernels. Then, the outer layer is peeled off, …
