Practice and all is coming.

A dream come true!

I have aways wanted to grow my practice and teaching so that one day I would change perspective from being a student in a Yoga Teacher Training to being a mentor. I had no structured plan for this to happen, just a vision but as always when we set our mind and intentions onto something, it sooner or later materializes. I did not expect for my dream to come true this fast though so naturally I was over the roof when Patrick invited me to join his team of mentors in his latest 200 hour Teacher Training. Patrick Broome Yoga became my yoga home in Munich over the years and I am honored and grateful for the opportunities given. We started in November 2017 and will continue until May this year, with monthly weekend intensives. I am mentoring an adorable group of 10 yogis and together we learn and grow and allow for our hearts to open and surrender and trust, brightly shining the light that resides within us. Teaching yoga is my calling and …

Playlist Yin Yoga

With winter approaching, we are entering a time of stillness and reflection. As the temperatures get colder, our bio-rhythm is slowing down. It’s a time for less activities, for staying in, for getting cozy with ourselves and our loved ones. It is also a time for turning inwards. As the year is coming to end an, we reflect on what touched our life in one way or another, seeking closures and new beginnings. This is a beautiful opportunity to slow down the pace and stay with what is in the spirit of openness and reliance. Yin Yoga can be a very sweet practice to support you on that path. Here’s my Yin Yoga Playlist for this season ♡

Rooftop Yoga

I`ve got news for you! Rooftop Yoga is coming to Munich!!! Living in Los Angeles, I fell deeply in love with rooftops and their vibes. The sensation of being right in the heart of the city, yet feeling closer to the sky than the busy life below is enchanting to me. Due to my love for rooftops and the fact that Munich is a little sleepy when it comes to yoga events and creative places to practice, already when I was still in Los Angeles I began to envision to offer something like rooftop yoga once back in Munich. Munich is buzzing with joy of life in the summertime and everyone and everything is happening outside on any given day that is blessed with sunshine and warm temperatures, so rooftop yoga was only the next logical thing to happen. As always, when you embark on the right path, the universe provides and soon after arriving in Munich the possibility arose to make my vision come true. Starting July 20 there`ll be open yoga classes on …

Morocco

Join me from April 16 until May 22 for yoga and surfing in beautiful Morocco. I`ll be teaching open and private classes at Paradis Plage Surf, Yoga & Spa Resort in Taghazout. This is the first time ever I`ll be travelling to North Africa and I am super excited and grateful for this opportunity! Also, this is going to be the first time since many years that I will be travelling to an unknown destination all by myself, and honestly… I can`t wait!!! All throughout my twenties I travelled the world on my own, often staying for months in remote locations, seeking the connection to nature and getting to know different cultures and ways of life. Surfing has been a passion long before yoga and my destinations would always lead me to a surfable ocean shore. This all changed when I met the man who is now my husband more than four years ago. Commuting between Los Angeles and Munich didn`t leave much time or resources for adventurous trips, let alone on my own, since getting to …

Extended Side Angle Pose

I`m not going to lie… Extended Side Angle Pose aka Utthita Parsvakonasana is a hard one for me! The side stretch is just so deep that I find it hard to revolve my torso and keep my breath even. I usually practice this pose with a block, sometimes at the highest level and as I get warmer and continue to enter the pose throughout the practice I may lower the block, get rid of it or even go for a bind. As always listen to your body, respect the principles of alignment and give your breath priority over a form you wish to achieve. How to get into the pose: Step your feet about 4 feet apart. From deep within the hip socket, rotate the front leg out to align the front foot parallel to the long end of your mat. Pivit the back heel out, heel to arch aligned. Let your hips open naturally. While both frontal hip points aim towards the long end of your mat, most hips won`t allow for a shape …

Playlist December

… and with this, 2016 comes to an end. ⠀ It’s a good time to turn inwards and reflect on these last twelve months before letting a new year in. Music is a great way to channel your feelings so light a candle, play some tunes and flow with whatever comes up. Here’s my end of the year soundtrack. Enjoy ♡

Upward Facing Dog

Low Cobra imprints correct body alignment and builds strength in the muscles along your spine so you can safely enter deeper backbends. Once you have mastered Low Cobra, you may opt for Upward Facing Dog aka Urdvha Mukha Svanasana instead of Low Cobra at times in your Sun Salutations and Vinyasas. How to get into the pose: From Low Cobra, straighten your arms. Make sure, that your wrists are right underneath your shoulders, with your palms and fingers spread wide and the creases of your wrists parallel to the short end of your mat. Root down firmly through the inner edges of your hands as you draw the outer upper arms back. Work the bottom tips of your shoulderblades up and into the chest as you soften the front ribs in. Relax your shoulders away from your neck. You may also bend your elbows slightly to pull your chest through the upper arms to open your heart space before you restraighten the arms. Draw the pit of the abdomen up and in to support your …

Playlist November

November is a month of stillness for me. The birthday month of October has passed and the festivities of December have not yet begun. Back home, the weather starts to get really chilly at this time of the year, the days become significantly shorter and life draws inwards. Here in Los Angeles, November feels like an early October to me, with the temperatures being slightly colder and somewhat autumnish. However, the feeling of November stays with me. It`s incredible how deeply our roots are inscribed in our memory. This playlist is 60 minutes short and a perfect compilation of my November feels. Enjoy ♡

Low Cobra

Over the course of my life I have developed lot of strength in my upper back and arms, something that started with surfing and swimming and found its continuation in yoga. This is great for Plank Pose and Chaturanga Dandasana and also helps in soft backbends like Low Cobra aka Bhujangasana, since the muscles along the spine are responsible for the lifting of the head, shoulders and chest in this asana. If you suffer from backpain you should work on strengthening the muscles along your spine to support a strong back and healthy posture. A few Low Cobras as part of your morning routine will awaken your spine and leave you feeling energized throughout the day. How to get into the pose: From Chaturanga Dandasana, lower all the way to the ground. Rest your forehead on the ground, keeping the neck long and relaxed. Align your wrists with your lower ribs alongside your torso and spread your palms and fingers. Find a 90 degree angle between your wrists and forearms as well as forearms and upper …

Playlist October

October has always been a special month for me. It is the month of my birthday. It is the month when the sun makes a last warm appearance. Where golden leaves rustle under bare feet. Where the morning air is fresh and crisp and filled with just a hint of good-bye. Where we begin to build our nests and turn inwards. In my home practice I have mostly practiced in silence throughout the last months. Then, all of a sudden, music had me back… oh how I enjoy to flow to the sound of soulful tunes. Everything in life comes and goes in waves. Enjoy ♡
